Michael
Asch is the only child of Moses and Frances Asch. He was a professor of Anthropology
at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, where he worked largely on issues of
political relationship between Canada and First Nations. He retired in 1998 and
moved to Victoria British Columbia, where he continues to work on the same issues,
now in association with the University of Victoria. Michael is the host of
Smithsonian Folkways: Sounds To Grow On series, broadcast on the CKUA
Radio Network.
